Towards a Just Metropolis is a conference for planners, designers, activists, policymakers and citizens dedicated to a just future for all human settlements.

Film and Art in the Mission Cultural Center

We all know how exhausting conferences can be, and with our full agenda, this one will be no different. Fortunately, one of the stars of our local food justice movement, City Slicker Farms, is opening it's doors to conference attendees who want to stick their fingers in the dirt after three days of conferring.

They can take up to 20 people as volunteers from 2:30-5:30 pm on Saturday, June 19th. If you are interested, please RSVP to Logan Rockefeller Harris at logan [at] cityslickerfarms.org. Space is limited, so reply now!

2010 ADPSR Lewis Mumford Awards

In 1992, ADPSR instituted an annual Lewis Mumford awards program to honor people and organizations that exemplify ADPSR's goals of peace, preservation of the natural and built environment,, and socially responsible development.(read on)

In the grand tradition of Guy Debord and the Situationists, the Just Metropolis conference closes with a psychogeographic encounter with San fFrancisco. Led by master gamer Ian Kizu-Blair and the Wanderers Union, participants will have a chance to see and experience San Francisco (and the city in general) in new ways, and come face-to-face with the growing movement around urban gaming.
